This is the first time Dylan has been to the Tulip Festival here at Thanksgiving Point, and my second year going (I went years ago). D had never been to the gardens at Thanksgiving Point before, either, so he was pretty much shocked by the massive size of them. This was a month ago, when tulips were even then just starting to bloom (because of the LONG winter we've had), and the daffodils were still out in full force. I was pretty excited to take pictures of the beautiful flowers and gardens - I hope you think the photos turned out as well as I do!

#3: This! We assume that they're still tulips, but they weren't marked with a sign or anything. Cool, though, right? I was so fascinated by them

#8: Early signs of spring! A mostly-dead tree with beautiful blossoms on this one branch
|
#9: I LOVE the yellow of these bushes in the early spring. I have no idea what the name of them is - I keep forgetting - but I want several of them when I have a yard

#10: Slow-motion water shots are some of my favorite things. Sorry about excess blur, but my elbows were just resting on the guard rail.

#12: My favorite of the whole day. This is in the Italian gardens part of the grounds, and I just think they do a fabulous job of incorporating flowers with their water features and the other landscaping

What do you think? Any favorites? What is your favorite type of flower in the spring?

I like them all. I had a great time. Grandpa and my Mom are total flower junkies so I grew up loving Spring, as well. I really like the ones of the multicolor flowers. I just think they're cool.
Forsythia! They're my favorite too! They are probably one of my favorite colors and in the summer they get really pretty leaves too. My favorite picture is the one of the blossoms on the one branch, for some reason the colors in that one appeal to me. Thanks for the pretty pictures to look at!
